# Breeding rules and Aetheryn Eggs

Earn readiness once, review the DNA outcomes, seal one Egg and hatch its committed Aetheryn.

Breeding is how a Hunt-ready Genesis begins a new Aetheryn family line. It is a deliberate owner flow: earn permanent readiness marks, pass compatibility and fertility checks, review every possible DNA outcome, seal one transferable Egg, wait 24 hours, and hatch the one committed child.

## The complete Breeding flow

| **6. Hatch**                | After maturity and artwork approval, the current Egg owner hatches. The Egg burns and the exact committed Aetheryn mints to that owner.                      |

## Readiness Marks — the “Breeding Strikes”

The permanent Hunt qualification is called a **Readiness Mark**. Some owners may refer to these as Breeding Strikes; both refer to the same seven-step readiness record.

One Hunt earns one mark only when all three conditions are true:

1. it runs for the full **6.5 hours**;
2. it closes through the **normal return** path; and
3. the result is finalized successfully.

An early return, intact rescue or transfer-triggered close earns **zero marks**. A qualifying full Hunt uses the on-chain opening time and lasts at least **23,400 seconds (6 hours 30 minutes)**. Marks follow the NFT for life and do not reset on transfer. The first **seven Readiness Marks** unlock that parent for the Breeding eligibility check.

**Readiness is earned once; fertility limits each birth.** Marks are not spent when an Egg is sealed. Genesis has seven lifetime breeding uses and each Aetheryn has three. You do not need seven new marks before each birth. A newly hatched child starts with zero and must earn its own seven.

Readiness is necessary, but it is not the only requirement. The parent must also have an available fertility use, be outside its active cooldown, satisfy the generation and kinship rules, and be owned by the sealing wallet.

**Timing:** seven qualifying Hunt windows total 45.5 hours. Allow additional time for transactions, settlement and readiness confirmation. An Egg then requires 24 hours of incubation and completed artwork/reveal readiness before Hatch. These are minimum timing conditions, not a promised completion deadline.

## Which parents are compatible?

Breeding uses strict generation and family-tree rules.

For G2+, both parents must be owned by the **same wallet at Seal**. Cross-wallet and cooperative pairing are not part of V1. Parent ownership and compatibility are checked again when the Egg is sealed, so a stale screen cannot create an Egg from an invalid pair.

## Fertility and the 24-hour cooldown

Fertility belongs to the parent NFT. It follows the creature through transfers and never resets.

At Seal, one use is **reserved** for each participating parent. The use becomes **consumed only after a successful Hatch**. Stockmon therefore shows three counts separately:

* lifetime uses;
* consumed uses; and
* reserved uses.

Available fertility is `lifetime uses − consumed uses − reserved uses`.

A failed request before Seal reserves nothing and moves no MON. Once an Egg is successfully sealed, its reservation remains with that Egg until Hatch. Burning an Egg or a descendant does not restore fertility or reopen collection capacity. Payment, recharge, XP, or ownership history cannot add fertility uses.

Each parent can have one active **24-hour incubation cooldown** at a time. When the cooldown ends, the parent may breed again if it still has an unreserved use—even when an older Egg remains unrevealed.

## What you review before payment

The final confirmation must show:

* the exact parent token ID or compatible parent pair;
* each parent’s owner, generation, seven marks, cooldown, and available fertility;
* the complete catalog of possible DNA recipes and the exact probability of every recipe;
* the Egg recipient;
* the exact MON amount, contracts, split, quote expiry, and accepted price-drift limit;
* the 24-hour maturity time;
* the next lifetime Aetheryn capacity reservation; and
* the rights the Egg and child do—and do not—receive.

The final child is intentionally hidden. You approve the complete probability set, not a preview that can later be swapped.

## DNA and outcome odds

Aetheryn DNA uses the permanent [196-lineage registry](/stockmon/aetheryn/196-lineages.md). Every lineage can contribute to a descendant’s anatomy, silhouette, materials, colors, eyes, energy, lighting, and personality.

### G1 DNA

Each Genesis has a create-once sequence of seven balanced Market Seeds drawn across the 180 non-Genesis market lineages. G1 recipes use exact **60/40** or **60/25/15** compositions. Every remaining seed has equal aggregate probability, and each valid recipe inside that seed is equally likely.

### G2+ DNA

Later generations use only the deduplicated union of both Aetheryn parents’ lineages. Every valid child contains at least one lineage from each parent. Duplicate genes merge, and V1 introduces no mutation lineage. Exact 60/40 and 60/25/15 recipes are enumerated and equally likely.

The odds describe DNA recipes. They do not promise a specific pose, rarity, market value, future token balance, or investment result.

## One Egg, one outcome, zero rerolls

One successful Seal creates exactly one hidden outcome. That outcome cannot be rerolled, redrawn, redirected, replaced with a “better” child, or selected by an operator.

The Egg is its own transferable ERC-721. It holds:

* immutable parent and generation records;
* the complete odds and version commitments;
* one hidden outcome commitment;
* its 24-hour maturity;
* its fertility and lifetime-capacity reservations; and
* its MON Birth Vault entitlement.

An Egg cannot Hunt or breed. It can be transferred immediately. Transferring it changes only the Egg owner—the parents, outcome, odds, maturity, artwork recipe, and Birth Vault do not change.

The current Egg owner controls Hatch after maturity. The child always mints to the current Egg owner, not automatically to the original payer or parent owner.

## MON payment and Birth Vault

One Seal targets approximately **$15 USD-equivalent of MON**.

The app shows the exact MON amount before confirmation. Send only the displayed amount through the Stockmon flow. The Egg-bound Birth Vault is a protocol entitlement, not a liquid wallet balance, guaranteed return, or promised market value.

## What happens if something fails?

There is no post-Seal timeout refund, cancellation, or redraw. That rule prevents a hidden result from being discarded in favor of another attempt. Artwork retries may only finish the same committed child, and Stockmon never mints an artless Aetheryn.

## What the child starts with

A successful Hatch burns the Egg and creates one revealed Aetheryn with:

* permanent ancestry, generation, and DNA;
* the Egg’s Birth Vault entitlement;
* zero XP and zero Readiness Marks;
* its own empty Hunt basket; and
* three lifetime fertility uses.

The child inherits **visual ancestry**, not a parent’s financial history. It does not inherit Genesis Feed balances, Stock Tokens, pending WETH, claims, Hunt credit, XP, marks, fertility, or redemption rights.

A revealed Aetheryn may Hunt immediately. It must earn its own seven full-Hunt Readiness Marks before it can become a G2+ parent.

## Lifetime collection limit

Aetheryn has a maximum of **100,000 lifetime successful descendants**, separate from the immutable 116 Genesis collection. Burning an Egg or child never reopens a used or reserved lifetime slot.

## Your final Seal checklist

Before approving MON:

1. Start inside the Stockmon app—not from a copied link or chat message.
2. Confirm the parent token IDs, current owner, marks, available fertility, and cooldown.
3. Confirm the generation and compatibility result.
4. Read the complete outcome catalog and every probability.
5. Match the exact chain, contracts, MON amount, recipient, split, and expiry in your wallet.
6. Confirm the Egg owner and 24-hour maturity.
7. Confirm that one Seal creates one permanent hidden outcome with zero rerolls and no post-Seal refund.
8. Cancel if any wallet field differs from the Stockmon review.
