# Get your Stockmon Breeding-ready

This is the owner checklist for moving from Hunt participation to a valid Aetheryn Egg.

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Breeding is not open yet.** Do not send MON to an unofficial Breeding address. When Breeding opens, the action will appear inside Stockmon with the exact parent, quote, contracts, probabilities, and wallet review.
{% endhint %}

## Your readiness card

The Stockmon app will show each potential parent as **Ready**, **In progress**, or **Unavailable** and explain the exact reason.

| Check                | Genesis parent                       | Aetheryn parent                      |
| -------------------- | ------------------------------------ | ------------------------------------ |
| Readiness Marks | Exactly 7 required | Exactly 7 of its own required |
| How marks are earned | Finalized full 6.5-hour normal Hunts | Finalized full 6.5-hour normal Hunts |
| Lifetime fertility   | 7 uses                               | 3 uses                               |
| Active incubation | Must have no active 24-hour cooldown | Must have no active 24-hour cooldown |
| Ownership at Seal | Owned by sealing wallet | Both parents owned by sealing wallet |
| Breeding role        | One-parent G1                        | Two-parent G2+                       |

## Step 1: earn seven Readiness Marks

Readiness Marks are the permanent Hunt qualifications sometimes called **Breeding Strikes**.

One full normal Hunt earns exactly one mark after finalization. These do **not** earn a mark:

* an early return;
* an intact rescue; or
* a Hunt closed because the NFT transferred.

Marks remain attached to the NFT forever. They follow the creature to a new owner and never reset. A new Aetheryn inherits zero marks from its parents and must complete seven qualifying Hunts of its own before G2+ Breeding.

## Step 2: check available fertility

Fertility is lifetime capacity, not a rechargeable stat.

* A Genesis begins with **7 lifetime uses**.
* A revealed Aetheryn begins with **3 lifetime uses**.
* Transfers never reset the count.
* Burns never restore a use.
* Payment, MON, XP, Hunt profit, or ownership time cannot add uses.

The app calculates:

`available uses = lifetime maximum − consumed uses − reserved uses`

A use is reserved when an Egg is sealed and consumed only when that Egg hatches successfully. This prevents the same final use from being promised to two Eggs.

## Step 3: choose a valid generation

### Creating G1

Choose exactly **one eligible Genesis**. A Genesis does not need a second parent.

### Creating G2 or later

Choose exactly **two distinct revealed Aetheryn**. Both must:

* have seven Readiness Marks;
* have an available fertility use;
* be outside active cooldown;
* be owned by the same wallet at Seal; and
* pass the kinship check.

Genesis + Genesis, Genesis + Aetheryn, and one-parent Aetheryn Breeding are not supported in V1.

## Step 4: pass the compatibility check

| Relationship                | Compatible? |
| --------------------------- | ----------- |
| Two unrelated Aetheryn      | Yes         |
| Cousins                     | Yes         |
| Same NFT paired with itself | No |
| Parent and child            | No          |
| Any ancestor and descendant | No |
| Full siblings               | No          |
| Half siblings               | No          |

Stockmon derives compatibility from permanent ancestry records. The result is checked again at Seal together with current ownership, marks, fertility, cooldowns, and lifetime capacity.

## Step 5: understand the 24-hour parent cooldown

Sealing an Egg starts one **24-hour incubation cooldown** for every participating parent. A parent cannot enter another Seal while that cooldown is active.

After 24 hours, the parent can breed again when it still has an unreserved use. It does not need to wait for an older mature Egg to hatch. The sealed Egg keeps its own fertility reservation until its successful Hatch.

## Step 6: review the complete odds

Before payment, Stockmon shows every possible DNA recipe and its exact probability.

* **G1** uses one Genesis’s remaining balanced Market Seed sequence and exact 60/40 or 60/25/15 recipes.
* **G2+** uses the deduplicated lineage union of both parents, includes at least one lineage from each, and enumerates exact 60/40 or 60/25/15 recipes.
* All DNA comes from the append-only [196-lineage registry](/stockmon/aetheryn/196-lineages.md).
* The final child remains hidden until reveal.

The displayed odds describe the possible DNA recipes. They are not a promise of appearance, rarity, value, yield, or future holdings.

## Step 7: review the MON quote

One Egg targets approximately **$15 USD-equivalent of MON**. The exact amount is quoted for **5 minutes**, with no more than **10% accepted price drift**.

| Destination | Share of accepted MON |
| --------------- | ------------------------------------: |
| Egg Birth Vault | 87.5%, plus any indivisible remainder |
| Treasury        |                   12.5%, rounded down |

Those are the only two destinations. The Birth Vault entitlement belongs to the Egg and later moves to the child at Hatch.

## Step 8: know what Seal commits

A successful Seal does all of the following together:

1. rechecks the parent or pair;
2. reserves fertility and one lifetime collection slot;
3. starts the 24-hour cooldown;
4. accepts and splits the exact MON payment;
5. commits one hidden, non-rerollable outcome; and
6. mints the transferable Egg to the chosen recipient.

If any precondition fails before Seal, no MON moves and nothing is reserved. If the Seal transaction fails, every effect rolls back together.

After Seal, the same Egg persists. There is no timeout refund, cancellation, redraw, or better-outcome replacement. If artwork is delayed, the Egg remains pending and transferable until that same committed child is ready.

## Step 9: understand Egg ownership

An Egg is independent from its parents after Seal.

* Transferring a parent does not cancel or redirect an Egg.
* Transferring an Egg changes only the Egg owner.
* The current Egg owner controls Hatch after maturity.
* The child mints to the current Egg owner.
* The Egg’s parents, odds, outcome, Birth Vault, maturity, and art recipe never change during a transfer.

## Step 10: hatch the exact child

Hatch becomes available after the Egg is mature and the committed artwork is approved. A successful Hatch atomically:

1. burns the Egg;
2. consumes the reserved parent fertility and lifetime capacity;
3. moves the Birth Vault entitlement to the child; and
4. mints the exact art-bearing Aetheryn to the current Egg owner.

A failed Hatch leaves the Egg, reservations, ownership, outcome, and Birth Vault unchanged. Stockmon never mints an artless child.

## What the child receives

The child receives permanent ancestry, generation, DNA, its own Birth Vault, its own Hunt basket, zero XP, zero Readiness Marks, and three lifetime fertility uses.

It receives none of its parents’ Genesis Feed balance, Stock Tokens, pending WETH, claims, Hunt credit, XP, marks, fertility, or redemption rights.

## Launch-day checklist

Before sealing an Egg:

* [ ] I started inside the official Stockmon app.
* [ ] Every parent shows seven finalized Readiness Marks.
* [ ] Every parent has an available, unreserved fertility use.
* [ ] No parent has an active cooldown.
* [ ] The generation and kinship check says compatible.
* [ ] The sealing wallet owns every participating parent.
* [ ] I read the full DNA outcome catalog and exact probabilities.
* [ ] I matched the MON contract, amount, recipient, split, quote expiry, and Egg owner.
* [ ] I understand that incubation lasts 24 hours.
* [ ] I understand that this creates one hidden outcome with zero rerolls and no post-Seal refund.
* [ ] Every wallet field matches the Stockmon review.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://raretyperesearch.gitbook.io/stockmon/aetheryn/get-your-stockmon-breeding-ready.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
